Pals Children's Outreach Project for 2025

Each year Pals members do a Christmas project to help young people in our community. Funds do not come from a fundraiser but personal donations by Pals members. This year, $2,287 worth of toys and clothing was donated. Pals Donations to the Community Reach $232,473

With the completion of our Christmas project and other recent donations, PALS has now given $232,473 back to the community since 2007. In addition to the generosity of our members who donate purses and gift cards for fundraisers, many thanks go to the community for supporting our 2 fundraisers each year which allows PALS to give it back to the Portsmouth community for creative and much needed projects.

Pals Supports Temporary Feeding Program

A donation of $1,000 was given to the Temporary Feeding Program to fund meals for three evenings to those impacted by the SNAP program being halted during the federal government shutdown. In addition to the donation, Pals members Janet Stewart, Tess Midkiff and Toni Dengel helped with the food preparation one night.

Pals Grants for 2025

A total of $21,337 was given to community projects and organizations during 2025. Those receiving funds were the:

* Books Build Bridges Literacy project
* City of Portsmouth Revitalization Cyndee Secrest Playground
* Portsmouth Little Theater directional mural
* Rarden Daily Bread Soup Kitchen
* Scioto Heritage Museum
* Kitchen Collective
* Growing Lucasville Opportunities (GLO)
* One College Junior or Senior Annual Scholarship Program

Next Grant Deadline - February 20, 2026

If your organization is a 501c3 charitable organization, consider applying for a grant. We look forward to sharing with the community the proceeds of our Reverse Raffle and Purse Bingo events. Please read the guidelines for grants on this website and see if your organization qualifies. While most grants are around $500, exceptions are made for one time projects meeting community needs.

Mark Your Calendar - March 14, 2026

Pals will hold an expanded face-to-face version of our Reverse Raffle - newly dubbed the Pot of Gold- to be held on March 14, 2026. In addition to our reverse raffle and $5,000 prize for the winner, we will also have food from the Scioto Ribber and other fun activities just a few days prior to St. Patrick's Day. Tickets for this expanded event are available for $100 which includes one raffle ticket and two dinners. These can be purchased at the Welcome Center, Morgan Bros Jewelers, from PALS members and online using this link. So put on your green and join us for this fun event!

2025 Pals Purse Bingo a Success!

Our Purse Bingo on September 21st was a sellout and great fun at our new location at The Venue at the Scioto County Fairgrounds. Thanks to our Sponsors and to the Welcome Center and Morgan Bros Jewelers for selling our tickets. Thanks to PALS members for selling tickets and for donating 15 designer bags as prizes and door prizes. Pals members also donated our Money Purse, the contents and the $500 cash. Hope everyone had a great time! Our next grant deadline is October 20th. Thanks for helping us make money to give back to our community.

The Money Purse included a designer weekender bag, all the contents shown here and $500 cash. The Money Purse winner was Toni Dengel. Thanks to all for buying tickets and Pals members for donating the bag, contents and the cash for the prize.
